#MyESCinValencia: The one about the European Youth Portal

Did you know about the European Youth Portal?

What about all the possibilities that Europe gives to young people, for their educational and training path? They are a lot! But sometimes it can happen that the right channels are not able to reach you. And viceversa.

Then what can help you better than a platform born with the aim of collecting all the experiences ideated for young people, the information on opportunities in Europe and beyond, all the programs investing in their education and training?

The European Youth Portal is recently born with this goal: allowing young people to explore their options and initiatives to learn, work and volunteer!

It is offering European and country level information addressed to the interest of young people who are living, learning and working in Europe.

What can you actually do on the portal? A lot of things! Let’s see them.

First of all, News and Events sections are ready to welcome you. If you’re interested in knowing about policies, meetings, events, webinars, possibilities to join campaigns and so much more, don’t forget to save the page in your bookmarks. The update is almost daily!

Then, four are the sections guiding your research according to the priority you want to give to your experience:

  • Thematic pages related to EU youth policies: “Get involved” Are you looking for ways to take action as a European and Global citizen? This is the section for you. In here, you will find Participation processes, possibilities to interact and send feedbacks to institutions, how to best get involved in your community and globally, information on your youth rights and on the fight for inclusion in Europe, how to be and make the change when it comes to sustainability, how to give your contributions to protect human rights, and so much more.

  • Thematic pages related to opportunities to go abroad: “Go abroad” If then again your interest is mainly focused on travelling and finding opportunities to volunteer, study or work abroad, this is the right section. There are PLENTY of possibilities, for young people aged 18/30, but NOT ONLY. And the best is that you can travel not just for your Erasmus in University but for Traineeship, Volunteering, Solidarity Projects, the new EU Aid, individual project, team projects, youth exchanges, capacity buildings, etc etc etc

  • EU-funded programme/initiative pages: “EU initiatives” What about if we tell you Erasmus is not the only possibility for young people? There are many programmes supporting youth empowerment, giving young people a possibility to form themselves and feel more European. Well this is the section to discover it!

  • Policy pages: “EU Youth Strategy” Not just travelling and discovering the world, but also discovering Europe and European Union in their most practical functioning could be interesting. Exercising one's right to vote, to be an active citizen, starts from knowing the processes and understand how being part of them. The youth portal also wants to support young people in this.

Did I convice you? I found the possibility to do my experiences through my organization AICEM and through the portal. What are YOU waiting for?
