How do we promote Education in our daily activities?

Dernière mise à jour : 6 mai 2022

To celebrate the role of education for peace and growth, the United Nations proclaimed the 24th January as International day of Education. The Right to Education is enshrined in the article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

What about the application of this right in our involvement?

Aicem is the acronym of International Association for Cooperation and Education in the World. Therefore, education is a "keyword” and an underlying theme of all projects.Education and promotion of Human Rights, in all their forms, remain at the core of Aicem's work.

As volunteers, we strongly believe that education and personal growth of an individual are strictly intertwined with social and cultural dialogue. Indeed, education is a path of growth and respect for diversity. We also believe that integration between formal and non-formal education is the main key to promote personal and professional growth of individuals.

We strongly believe that dialogue and intercultural exchange are the key values to educate ourselves and learn from each other.

How do we promote Education in our daily activities?

As volunteers, our mission is to enable children, young people and people with social difficulties to develop skills, abilities and competencies in order to become more confident and more integrated into the society.

We mainly focus our actions on sustainable development, social inclusion and human rights respect. These areas are all interconnected and have a direct impact on development and well-being of a person. Guiding our work in these areas means positively influencing the environment where a child, a young or an adult person, can develop, grow, work and contribute to its enrichment with the decision to act with full respect of her/his own dignity and that of others.

That’s why we focus our actions through artistic and cultural workshops, solidarity actions such as food collect, actions of sensibilisation, etc.

Through the implementation of educational and non formal activities, we aspire to give confidence, voice and space to young people so that they can express their full potential.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world”
