In Sassari, teenagers don’t have enough support regarding their professional orientation. Many of them don’t have personal and professional projects, and they don’t know who to contact to help them regarding their orientation. Therefore, the objective is to implement an orientation point to provide advice and professional assistance to them. Also, it will aims at giving information about cooperation and international mobility, and the opportunities for young people at local, national and international level. As a volunteer, my mission is to establish a territorial diagnosis to better know the needs of the youth who live in Sassari. In the meantime, I contact the associations that provide assistance to this public, so that we can set up actions that are in line with the needs of the teenagers.
Samra, (the other volunteer) and I have to compare the Italian educational system with the one from our country (France and Montenegro) in order to know what works and what could be interesting to develop in Italy. For example, in France, young people from 16 to 25 years can ask for assistance to “La mission Locale”, which is an organization that provides information and support in every city of the country. Counselors and social workers help in all the procedures related to employment and formation. They also set up individual and collective workshops regarding job application, interviews, and how to write a CV and a cover letter.
For the next few months, our objective is to implement and develop a similar project in Sassari. We aim at providing useful professional tools to the teenagers so that they can apprehend their future with enthusiasm and confidence.
